Lisa Hughes

Lisa Hughes is the Portfolio Director for the HBS PLD program, the HBS Executive MBA alternative.  Lisa is responsible for ensuring overall success of HBS PLD and an additional portfolio of short open enrollment programs at the Harvard Business School. Beyond managing the programs in her portfolio through their entire life cycle Lisa also is particularly focused on developing strong ties between the School and the PLD alumni community.  Her role has P&L for its portfolio, and entails working with faculty to innovate within programs, collaborating with marketing, client services and corporate relations teams on their strategies, oversight of the admissions process, partnership with program delivery teams and multiple service providers, and evaluation of program effectiveness.  As a member of the Director corps, her deep knowledge of the business, programs and participants lends her voice to the strategic planning process for Executive Education at HBS.

Lisa has been with the Harvard Business School for 18 years in research, management and portfolio leadership roles. She was involved with HBS PLD at its inception, and she has managed over 200 iterations of open-enrollment programs at HBS and at external locations in Boston, China, India and Europe.

Prior to joining HBS, Lisa was the General Manager of Teleco Network Services, a Detroit area based international distributor and provider of phone, voice and data products and services, with dealers across the United States and Europe. A privately held corporation, Teleco ranked as one of the top 100 businesses in the state of South Carolina and twice received Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Companies award. Prior to Teleco, Lisa was a real estate development executive.

Lisa is a Research Committee member at UNICON, the International University Consortium for Executive Education. She is a proud alumna of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
